Unter dem Motto „Be Yourself! Vielfalt Leben – auch in Kassel“ haben die Jusos zusammen mit der SPD und der Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Lesben und Schwule in der SPD (Schwusos) an der Parade und dem Straßenfest des diesjährigen Kasseler Christopher-Street-Days am 18. August teilgenommen.
Der Christopher-Street-Day versteht sich als Demonstration für die Gleichberechtigung homo-, bi- und transsexueller Menschen. Er will auf die immer noch weit verbreiteten Ressentiments gegenüber solchen Lebensentwürfe aufmerksam machen und zugleich die politische Gleichstellung in vielen Lebenslagen erreichen. So ist bspw. die „eingetragene Lebenspartnerschaft“ immer noch nicht gleichstellt mit der klassischen „Ehe“, auch im Adoptionsrecht werden gleichgeschlechtliche Partnerschaften immer noch nicht vollends gleichbehandelt. Alles Missstände, die während des Christopher-Street-Days thematisiert werden. Insofern liegt es an den politischen Akteuren, und nicht zuletzt auch an der SPD, endlich solche Missstände anzugehen und für die Gleichberechtigung Lesben, Schwuler, Bi- und Transsexueller einzusetzen. Denn niemand darf wegen seiner sexuellen Orientierung benachteiligt sein und sollte sich auch nicht deswegen verstellen müssen: Sei du selbst! – Be Yourself! Wir alle wollen Vielfalt Leben und dies auch in Kassel!
