„Wir Jusos waren erschrocken, als wir davon hörten, dass in der Kasseler CDU Nazis in Ortsverbandsvorstände gewählt werden und es angeblich keiner merkt!“, stellen der nordhessische Juso-Bezirksvorsitzende Pascal Barthel und der Kasseler Juso-Unterbezirksvorsitzende Johannes Gerken gemeinsam fest. „Wir fordern daher die Kasseler CDU und ihre Vorsitzende Staatsministerin Kühne-Hörmann auf, wirkliche Konsequenzen aus den aktuellen Ereignissen zu ziehen und nicht nur mit Lippenbekenntnissen zu glänzen“, sagt Gerken. „Sowohl Ministerin Kühne-Hörmann als auch Innenminister Rhein und sein Vorgänger und amtierenden Ministerpräsidenten Bouffier sind jetzt mit dem aktuellen Nazi-Skandal verbunden. Offensichtlich hat das CDU-Spitzenpersonal in Hessen ein braunes Problem und weiß nicht, wie es gelöst werden kann“, erklärt Pascal Barthel.
Dieser Skandal der CDU Kassel reiht sich in bundesweite Vorfälle ein. Der Umgang der Union mit Rechtsradikalismus und Rechtsextremismus ist seit jeher ambivalent: „Nicht erst dieser Vorfall zeigt, dass in der CDU kein antifaschistisches Grundverständnis vorherrscht. Immer wieder wird deutlich, dass Rechtspopulisten, -radikale und -extremisten in der CDU eine politische Heimat finden“, so Barthel weiter. Dies wird auch dadurch unterstrichen, dass der Bundesinnenminister und Unionspolitiker Friedrich immer noch nicht bekennt, dass die Ermittlungsbehörden im Falle der rechtsterroristischen Mordserie zu viele falsche Schlüsse gezogen haben und rechtsextreme Motive zu lange außer Acht gelassen wurden. Bei Friedrich scheint die Botschaft dieser Mordserie immer noch nicht angekommen zu sein: „Deutschland hat ein massives Problem am rechten Rand der Gesellschaft, das sich immer mehr in ihrer Mitte ausbreitet! In diesem Sinne ist es für uns Jusos weiterhin unverständlich, dass Bundesfamilienministerin Schröder vor allem Linksextremismus als Gefährdung unserer Demokratie ausmacht und munter Mittel im Haushalt zur Bekämpfung von Rechtsradikalismus und -extremismus mit dieser Begründung umschichtet“, stellt Gerken entsetzt fest
